Our work with Roots Sports Medicine focused on redesigning their homepage and optimizing their booking workflow to better showcase this specialized Phoenix-based sports medicine clinic. Roots offers a unique combination of performance training, rehabilitation therapies, and recovery services, all delivered through 1-on-1 sessions with certified athletic trainers.

We created a new homepage that clearly communicates their “Reconnect. Recondition. Revitalize. Recover” philosophy while highlighting their three core service areas: performance training, rehab therapies, and recovery/prevention programs. Additionally, we consulted with their team on leveraging existing features within their Mindbody booking software to streamline the appointment process and reduce friction for clients seeking cash-based, individualized care.

The Problems

At the time of engagement, Roots Sports Medicine had a homepage that wasn’t effectively communicating their unique value proposition in the crowded Phoenix wellness market. Despite offering premium 1-on-1 sessions with Masters-level athletic trainers and cutting-edge recovery modalities like cold plunge therapy, their website failed to differentiate them from traditional physical therapy clinics.

Potential clients couldn’t quickly understand whether Roots was right for their performance training goals, injury rehabilitation needs, or recovery optimization. Additionally, while they had Mindbody as their booking platform, they weren’t leveraging its full capabilities to create a smooth booking experience, leading to unnecessary friction in converting website visitors into scheduled appointments. For a cash-based practice that relies on attracting motivated athletes and active individuals, their digital presence wasn’t capturing the premium, personalized experience they actually deliver.

Our Fix

We redesigned Roots Sports Medicine’s homepage with a clear focus on their three distinct service pathways—performance training, rehabilitation therapies, and recovery/prevention—making it immediately obvious which track fits each visitor’s needs. The new design emphasizes their key differentiators: 1-on-1 individualized care with medical providers, custom-tailored plans, modern tools and techniques, and Masters-level certified athletic trainers, positioning them as the premium choice for serious athletes and active individuals.

We restructured the content flow to address specific pain points each audience faces, from athletes wanting to “take training up a notch” to individuals dealing with persistent injuries who want to “sidestep surgery altogether.” Most importantly, we consulted with their team on optimizing their existing Mindbody setup, showing them how to leverage built-in features for class scheduling, package sales, and client communication.
